A schoolboy wedding guest was stunned when he snapped the newlyweds' first dance - and spotted an apparition of a ghost in the disco lights.

Jordan Martin, 12, took a series of photographs as the couple danced at their wedding reception at Tewkesbury Rugby Club, Gloucestershire.

But he was left speechless when he flicked through the pictures afterards and saw the haunting image of a woman's head and torso floating inches from the ground near the DJ booth.

He said: "I didn't see the ghost until a couple of days later when I was looking at the pictures on the computer.

"When I saw it I was like 'wow' and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I thought it was really weird because it really looks like there's a ghost in the picture."

The picture was taken as newlyweds Nigel and Helen Davis took to the floor for the first dance after their wedding at Gloucester Register Office.

Jordan was snapping away from the side of the dance floor when he unknowingly captured the image.

His mother Ann, of Northway, Gloucestershire, said she does not believe in ghosts but cannot explain the appearance of the uninvited guest.

She said: "It was a shock when I saw the picture. It looks pretty clear to me and it looks so real. Jordan is quite excited about it. It's a bit weird."

A picture snapped by a teenager at a centuries-old castle in the Scottish Highlands is proof that ghosts really do exist

A PICTURE snapped by a teenager at a centuries-old castle in the Scottish Highlands is proof that ghosts really do exist, it has been claimed.

The spectral vision was captured by 14-year-old Connor Bond at Tulloch Castle in Dingwall, already famed for its ghostly residents.

The ghoulish apparition was snapped by accident while the youngster and his family were attending a wedding at the castle, reports The Sun newspaper.

The family only noticed what they had captured when they downloaded the image on to their computer and saw the ghostly hand and a swirl of mist around it.

Despite describing themselves as sceptics, Connor and dad Mike are now convinced the ghost they snapped is real and are hoping experts will examine it and prove them correct.

Mike, 52, from Inverness said: "You can clearly see this ghostly figure on the staircase.

"You can see a hand on the banister and what appears to be a white mist around it.

"Being a sceptical person I thought Connor had done something to the picture but he says not and I believe him."

Tulloch Castle dates back to the 1200s and has a long history of ghostly activity.

The most famous of them is the Green Lady who has been seen by dozens of people, and even has the castle's bar named after her.

She is believed to be the ghost of Elizabeth Davidson, whose family once owned the castle where her portrait hangs in the Great Hall.

Mike added: "I just don't see what else it could be - it's a digital camera so you can't accidentally double expose the shot and Connor swears there was no one around at the time.

"It's a mystery."

When Angie D'Arcy had her photos developed she was stunned to see this ghostly figure of an unknown boy.

She cannot recall anybody being in the frame when she took the snap.

Angie, 40, said: "I don't believe in ghosts but I just can't explain it.

The pic has been re dubbed and a picture of Anakin Skywalker, boy slave "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" as been imposed into your picture so i'm afraid the game is up for you,

scrawled on the fireplace, the word "tangnefedd" appeared overnight

A phenomenon regularly took place at the home of the Gower family when a ghostly monk dropped in - that was after the Virgin Mary materialised in front of passers-by!
All around the house in Treuddyn, near Mold, graffiti in the form of stains and carvings began materialising on the walls, on the mantelpiece, even imprinted on the lawn
First, scrawled on the fireplace, the word "tangnefedd" appeared overnight. It is an ancient Welsh word, no longer in use, meaning religious peace. It has since disappeared, to be replaced by a cross which has mysteriously been carved on another wall.

It marked the start of a series of paranormal daubings. Life on the farm began to get very strange three years ago.

Rose-Mary Gower's daughter Adrienne saw one night the spectral form of a monk shuffling about at the bottom of her bed.
Rose-Mary herself saw a shadowy figure in the garden. It shared the bedroom of John-Paul, her teenage son, who thought of him simply as a friend. John-Paul has Downs Syndrome and says he saw this monkish apparition as often as the family cat.

The Gowers called him Brother Adophus - Brother Doli for short. John-Paul once saw Brother Doli in the garden patting Aslan, the family Alsatian that had died and had been buried in the garden.
Brother Doli even played pranks on visitors, appearing in photographs, but it's the writing on the wall that has perplexed the Gower family most.

It is all in Welsh, and as they aren't Welsh speakers, they bought a dictionary to translate it. Recently, the words IACHAD (healing) and FFYDD (faith) have been carved into the stone.

"The carvings are amazing - we discovered no evidence of stone chippings or dust!", says Rose-Mary.

Six weeks after Aslan died the Welsh word for dog, "ci", appeared on the kitchen wall. But most of the stains and carvings are in an old hand and are religious. Rose-Mary said: "The words GWEDDI (prayer) and PADERAU (rosary) materialised before our eyes - one minute nothing was visible, the next these words were there.

"When the word CANNWYLL (candle) was photographed the word MYNACH (monk) appeared on the photo but not on the wall!"

They are the very devil to remove (Rose-Mary has tried bleach), but seem to come and go by themselves. They still appear most weeks. And it is not just on Penyffordd Farm itself.

A friend who went to stay found the word "tangnefedd" inside his computer laptop lid when he returned home. A reporter's return train ticket went missing and was found, complete with Celtic graffiti, behind the mantlepiece clock. The word "mynach" has been cut into the lawn and the "millennium" and "2000" also appeared. Watches and clocks of visitors seem to run slow.

The Gowers, and especially Rose-Mary's science-trained husband, became totally intrigued.

A film crew brought along a "sensitive", Elwyn Roberts, who sat down with a piece of paper. Automatic writing sped across the page and the paper was actually embossed with the Welsh word for joy. But Elwyn Roberts also felt he could visualise Brother Doli's dreadful fate. He saw a monk kneeling by a river, his hands raised in self-defence; a swordsman on horseback; the glint of steel; frantic and vain efforts to ward off the blows. He had the strong feeling that Brother Adolphus felt he had died far too young and had appeared to the Gowers because they were "sympathetic".

The year of his death, he said, was 1613. Carved into the lintel of the Gowers' cottage is the date 1610.They contacted a local archivist who couldn't find a nearby monastic settlement. But their home could well have lain on an ancient pilgrim route from the abbey at nearby Valle Crucis. The early years of the 7th century were also a period of intense hatred between Protestants and Catholics.

The Gowers emphatically deny they hoaxed the haunting which ended in March 2001 although the writing and image of a monk can still be seen on the walls. In fact, the couple seem genuinely mystified. And others witnessed the graffiti appear before their eyes.

Is there any financial gain to spinning out this monkish tale?

Rose-Mary says hauntings tend to reduce the value of a home (in fact people are required to declare it if a house is haunted when they are selling or else face being sued!).

A strange and well-documented apparition phenomenon began in the small Spanish village of Belmez in August, 1971. According to Maria Gomez Pereira, a human face formed spontaneously on her cement kitchen floor. A neighbor destroyed the floor with a pickaxe and a new floor was laid, but soon a fresh face appeared in roughly the same location. This time, the mayor of Belmez forbade the destruction of the new apparition. Instead, it was cut out
It was believed that the Pereira house, built circa 1830, stood above a graveyard used by the Romans, Spanish Muslims, and then Medieval Christians. Indeed, subsequent digging revealed human bones buried deep beneath the home. But this cathartic affirmation did not end the phenomenon at Belmez. Faces continued to appear on the floor--both males and females; some tiny in size, some large. Their slow development was witnessed by investigators on vigil at the home. Some of the faces also quickly disappeared, fading within hours. Investigators reportedly made EVP recordings of sobbing, keening, and whispering when the Pereira house stood empty; they also unsuccessfully tried to remove the faces by scrubbing them.

At one point early in the phenomenon, 5,000 people a day lined up outside to see the mysterious faces and the house was kept under 24-hour guard.

The crowds in Belmez have long gone, but faces are still appearing today. BBC Correspondent Daniel Schweimler traveled to Belmez in 1999 and visited the Pereira home. Schweimler wrote: "I arrived at a small whitewashed cottage...The front door was open so I entered and found an old lady in an armchair watching a religious service on television. 'Las Caras, the faces?' I asked. 'Can I see them?'
"She waved me into the small, sparsely-furnished front room and continued watching television. I looked at the floor where I'd been told the faces would be. And as soon as my eyes had become accustomed to the dim lighting, I quite clearly saw the face of a young woman. It was faint at first but gradually the definition and the details became clearer. It was a sad face. There were others - some clear, some not so clear. Images of old men and children deeply ingrained in the cement floor."

Are the Belmez faces fraudulently painted? If so, Schweimler reports that the Pereiras gained little from the fraud. "All Maria appears to have gained is a new kitchen--built by the local authorities since so many visitors were walking through the original kitchen," he writes. And in all the years since the faces first began to appear, no evidence of trickery has ever been found. But are they genuine images of the dead buried beneath the Pereira family's house? The evidence doesn't clinch it. Some researchers apparently suggested a second paranormal alternative: the faces were manifested on the floor by telekinesis. The evidence? The expressions on the faces were reported to change with the mood of Maria Pereira.
In 2004 the home was put up for sale after Maria Pereira died. The debate over the cause of this phenomenon continues among the many researchers who have studied The Belmez Faces.

hehe , ok i can solve this mystery!
Actually i was the culprit , the forum had a javascript pop up thing that was interfering with the linked images, was a total pain in the bum,

the thumbnail you set and linked was correct , just not working correctly
so i attached the image instead

and then i fixed the problem with the script too :)

Southend Arterial Road (A127), Brentwood, Essex - ENGLAND

Used up until the late 80s I do believe, this place was evetually closed due to license issues. From what I've been told the residents down the road its on didn't like the club (suprise) and also it was well out of the way of both local police forces, so made response to incidents a chore. All thats left now is the empty shells of the places.. a strange gaff to walk about, crumbling walls and now home of the pigeons!
